Gone are the days where getting your photo taken is akin to your annual dentist appointment: something that you don’t like but just kind of have to do. Your experience with me will be anything but! I center my prompts around you and your partner both together and as individuals with the goal of bringing out how you naturally are together. I observe your dynamic and move with it, not change it. I want you to look at your photos and see yourself. Your true self.
We’re going to laugh A LOT!
A typical session with me ends with someone saying something along the lines of “I can’t believe how much fun that was!” To quote Chandler Bing, “We are fond of the silliness, but we also have a soft spot for the love…” I truly believe the two can go hand in hand, and while I still love prompting my couples into tender and passionate moments, I am an equally huge proponent of you two trying to give each other piggy back rides, tickle fights, and whispering dirty jokes in each other’s ears! By the end of our session, you won’t feel like you just got your photos taken; you’ll feel like you just spent time with a friend!
I am as professional as I am fun!
While it’s true we will laugh and play during our time together, I am also incredibly professional. I am extremely communicative, detail oriented, and punctual. Yes, these are all super boring things, but they are crucial when being trusted with important milestones such as wedding/elopement days! I am always where I need to be early with a detailed timeline in hand, and I don’t leave anything up to chance. I’ll still take a shot on the dance floor with you if you ask though. ; )
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and inclusive of ALL walks of life
Now more than ever, finding vendors who are truly inclusive matters. And I’m not talking about simply being ok with booking queer couples, I am talking about vendors who CELEBRATE these love stories. With me, your story will be safe and told with the utmost care and love. Your gender identity, sexuality, race, and religion are all welcome with me. As a bi/pan woman myself, this is not only important to me, it’s everything to me.
AI doesn’t run my business… I do!
The fast, ever-growing presence of AI in our world can be jarring and hard to wrap our heads around, especially in the photography community. The way other photographers incorporate AI into their businesses is just that; their business, and nothing to do with mine. But as for me, I have come to the conclusion that the best way for me to tell your story authentically, with intention, and with the utmost care means using minimal to no AI to do so. This extends to everything from choosing and editing your photos, the emails I send you, and the posts I create on all of my social media. If this is something that matters to you, I’m the photographer you want to work with!
I put my heart + soul into my work
Above all else, this is what I love doing. It’s impossible to imagine my life doing anything else. I get to work with so many amazing people, and no two stories ever look the same. To be able to say that my job is to witness people on the happiest days of their lives is beyond comprehension, and something I will never take for granted. As such, I am always learning and growing, always ready to try something new, and overjoyed at the opportunity to do so! To work with me is to work with someone who cares for your moments as if they were my own. I treasure them with you.
